I have a sewing machine. I haven't used it in a while, but I do have a project that I'm working on. When trying to think of what sewing machine to get, I texted my friend who has a sewing machine. I asked her what brand of sewing machine she had...If she liked it...If she knew if this other brand was good...That kind of thing. I also went to consumersearch.com and looked at what they thought the best ones were. I chose the one that was mechanical, aka not computerized. I don't want to pay the extra money. So, I bought Brother XL-2600i. It's very easy to use. It came with instructions with a lot of pictures so I even figured it out myself. However, I then had to wait for my friend to come over and interpret the sewingese in the pattern I bought from Wallyworld (otherwise known as Walmart). But that's neither here nor there.
I wouldn't know if the sewing machine is working well or not. But if you're looking for a sewing machine, here's the link for what consumer search says about sewing machines, and here's the one for consumer reports. You need to sign in to see the what consumer reports says. Consumer Reports shows reviews of a lot of different ones next to each other. They have reviewed a whole lot more sewing machines than consumer search has. At least a lot more than consumer search tells you about. Consumer search tells you the reviews for the ones they think are best. They show two sewing machines, one is the best mechanical one (the one I got) and the other is the best computerized one.
I've wanted a sewing machine for a really long time and it's so fun to finally have one now. I have cut up a lot old clothes and tried sewing them into a blanket. I have taken a really ugly shirt, took off the sleeves, a few inches of poofyness, and a bow. It looks a whole lot better now. I've worked on a pattern for a pair of shorts that are gonna be really cute. This is a big step from my little cat outfits made out of old socks that I used to hand sew as a kid. I outta put a few pictures of those on here. I'll also show you those projects up there, once I'm done with them.
