Dyed outfit

I have a really cute, old, outfit.  It's a shirt and skirt.  However.  It is a strange color and the armpits have sweat stains.
So a long time ago I got some stain to dye it with.  And not that long ago I finally got around to dying it.
It looks whiter in this picture than it really is.

Grrross.

Here's the skirt.

They have this awesome embroidery on them.

The dye I used was one package from a long time ago and one from not so long ago, so I guess they changed their recipe but I mixed them together and it turned out fine.  One thing you want to remember is to not dye them one at a time because different packages even of the same brand and color will change just slightly in the different batches.

I used a painting stick to stir it and a well cleaned out clorine bucket to dye it in.  Follow the instructions on the package for how often to stir it.  Gasp!  I know.  I just told you to follow the instructions.

The sweat stains are no more.

Here it is after.

And the skirt.

I love how the embroidery took the dye differently.  It makes it stand out a little.

And here am I in it.  What makes this picture even better is that my nose is half in and half out of the picture.  Great.  I guess that's kind of like is the glass half full or half empty?  Is the nose half in or half out?

I love it!
After dying it, set it by washing it ALONE in a cold cycle.  Unless you have something red and faded that you want to brighten up a little.  Or something you want to dye pink.

  1. I love it! Gotta try that with some of my old clothes that need new life.
