This movie is about Nancy Drew, played by Emma Roberts, solving a mystery about Dehlia Draycott, a actress found dead in her pool many years ago. It is a humorous story, and a new twist on the old books what with Nancy being a teenager in high school. After a hostage situation, her dad tells her to stop sleuthing while they're in California for his job. But with the house she already picked out having a mystery, she just can't stay away from cracking the case.
My cousin and I watched it and loved it. My sister didn't like it because she was really into the the books and doesn't like movies that she considers silly and so she greatly disliked this rendition. I couldn't disagree with her more. It's a fun movie, with plenty of secret passages and normal Nancy Drew tricks of the trade.
***** Stars!
It's rated PG for Mild Violence, Thematic Elements and Brief Language

It will create a new tab of the wiki on this movie. Warning! Wiki
gives a lot away. The only thing I disagree with on it is: Ned is her
boyfriend not just a secret crush. Ned calls Nancy at one point and
says he had a dream that she met the guy from smallville and forgot
about him. And later on, she tells her friend Corky (a twelve year-old
with a major crush on her) that Ned is her really good friend from River
Heights (instead of saying he's her boyfriend) to not make Corky
jealous. And Ned looks surprised.
Also, I don't know that they are making a sequel but the wiki claims they are.
hahaha I will never forget that movie night...that was four years ago!!! lol "it's not over til they kiss!"
