We got some party hats, some blower things (I forget what they're called), sparkler candles, a 1 candle and a 8 candle. And a pinata. I'm also thinking of getting silly string. That way I have something I can throw at her. Easier to clean up than confetti and adds to the surprise. I'm going to make spice cake cupcakes with vanilla frosting.
Seeing as how we aren't surprising her for another week, I'm not going to blog this until after, just in case.
It's after! And it was a success!
One of the worries was her possibly not coming, because I can't tell her she HAS to come today. That would give it away. So I as inconspicuously as possible, asked if she could come over Sat. She said maybe. She didn't know if she would be busy or not. And here's the thing, we were going to leave for vacation on Sunday. So if something happens and she can't come, then it's not like she can just come over on one of the next days. Aka, what do we do with the cupcakes? And we'd have to take down all the decorations so my dad who wasn't coming on vacation didn't have to live with them for three weeks...and duck under them...
I put up all the decorations anyway. And made the cupcakes. And she came! I was praying she would be able to.
This is Chelsea as a cupcake. |
We ate cupcakes and drank a broken Darth Vader lightsaber (carbonated cherry limeade) and broken Luke Skywalker lightsaber (mountain dew). Course, I didn't drink the mountain dew. :P Bleh
Then we played LIFE-Twists and Turns, which is basically life the board game except waaaay better than the old one.
Then we melted crayons on rocks. :) When I told my cousin we had done that she asked why we did it, I said because we could. Yeahhh, she thinks I'm crazy. Which is fairly normal.
I'll have pictures of the rocks on here soon. And explain how we did it. It was a lot of fun.
Here's the cupcakes:
Chewbaccas! |
I ran out of the right color frosting for the other chewies. :( Oh well. |
Leahs! |
So cute! The Leahs are my favorite. |
Luke Skywalkers! |
Luke is happy. |
Han Solos! |
I love his "whatever" face. |
Here they are all set up. |
I found the idea for a certificate on the internet. So I wrote one of my own, printed it out, Helen and I signed it, and I painted the seal on it. Then I scanned it and printed out a new one because the first one got all crinkled.
Chelsea the Victorious! She defeated Darth Bull. |
